Slade in Flame was an album by the British glam/hardrock group Slade released on November 29, 1974. The album contains songs from the film of the same name "Slade In Flame". The album reached #6 on the English album chart and produced two hit singles, "Far Far Away" and "How Does it Feel?" (see track listing below). The band tried to give the album a "sixties" feel, as its eponymous film was set in 1966.
Though the record was lauded by critics, the response of the general public was somewhat lackluster, and the album did not sell as highly as expected, even as it was released in time for the annual Christmas rush. In February, their record company released the song "How Does It Feel?" as a single, and it became their first single not to reach the Top 10, ending up at #15. The song has since been said to be one of the band's finest.
The album was released in the United States on the Warner Bros. label, with "Bangin' Man" replacing "Summer Song (Wishing You Were Here)."
